LBP 2 lets you make your own music
The official LittleBigPlanet Youtube channel has send out a message to its subscribers. While it doesn’t mention much new, there are two snippets of information that are worth noting. First of all it restates the rumored November release date for LittleBigPlanet 2 and secondly it confirms that we will be able to compose our own music. How that will look we don’t know yet, but it’s good to see that feature in the game. Hopefully that eliminates the need for complex music boxes or carts moving past a wall of magnetic keys.
LittleBigPlanet 2!! yah!
A few exciting things on the horizon – the biggest being LittleBigPlanet 2! Coming out in November we are giving you all a powerful new set of tools awaits you, tools that vastly widen the scope of possibility, and that hand you the power to create WHOLE GAMES!
Through a familiar but revamped Popit, you can bring your characters to life, compose your own music, direct cinematic masterpieces, wire controllers directly in to your contraptions, connect easy to use switches, microchips and circuit boards to build epic bosses, vehicles, machines, and puzzles.
WITH…. 2 Million levels ready to play… all the original levels from LBP1 will be playable in LBP2.

It could of course be that by composing they mean using timers, sequencers and sound objects as you can see it being done in this video from about 0:40 seconds onwards:
