From EDGE story:

Today, VG247 has posted a very interesting rumor:

Sony will announce in Tokyo on January 27 the PSP2

VG247 has learnt that Sony it to hold a “business overview and strategy meeting” in Tokyo on January 27, and has been told that Sony will use the event as a reveal platform for PSP2.

Nothing is known of the meeting’s content, but we do know that only “very select press” are attending.

Sources have said this morning that PSP2 will be announced at the showcase.

The industry will finally find out what form the PSP2 will take at a press event in Tokyo on January 27th, MCV can confirm.

Claims emerging this morning about an impending reveal for the long-rumoured PSP2 are true.
Publishers were informed late last year of the plans, with some of Sony’s biggest parties already at work on titles for the high-specced device.
The date of the reveal itself is just the beginning, however.

And now GameInformer “confirm” that it was invited to a Sony event in Tokyo on January 27

[UPDATE] Sony has not commented directly on the rumors, but Game Informer was just invited to a Sony event on January 27th in Tokyo. Interesting…

We just have to wait the 27 January for know the response of Sony to 3DS

New “Storyline Feaurette” LittleBigPlanet 2 trailer

LittleBigPlanet 2 will be with us in less than two weeks !

New Jurassic Park game details from Game Informer

* Story takes place during and directly after the first movie.

* Gameplay mostly inspired by Heavy Rain. While not stated outright, the preview seems to imply that action sequences will be QTE. Moreover, some choices will have consequences, although not as meaningful as in Heavy Rain.

* There will be puzzles, but there are no examples.

* The main character is not named in the preview, but from the screens, appears to be park staff.

* No major movie characters will appear (specifically: no Grant, no Malcolm, no Sattler). Some bit players will, however, like the chief veterinarian.

* Five episodes.

* The art design is realistic – much better looking than CSI from the screens, but far from Heavy Rain quality of course 😉

* RELEASE DATE: Spring 2011

* No word on which consoles will get it. Other than that, PC and Mac obviously.

Silent Hill: Downpour is the official title for the new Vatra/Konami Silent Hill title for PS3 and Xbox 360. Text from the scans was hard to read but here’s some info from what I could make out:

-Demo takes place in the outskirts of SH
-The town is so large that you can use a subway system to travel between focal points
-Sidequests
-Avoid fights when possible, better to deliver incapacitating blows and run away
-Boss fights with quicktime events
-Water plays a huge part in the game, bizarre water effects like what looks like an upside down river flowing across a ceiling is described
-Prominent locations in the older installments like schools and hospitals will not return
-The southeastern part of Silent Hill that you see on the maps in the older games but never go to is the area that will be explored in Downpour
-No weapon inventory, weapons weaken and break
-There will be puzzle difficulty options

GameInformer February Cover Revealed

A new era is dawning in the world of Tamriel, and we’ve got 14 pages of screens and details straight from Bethesda.

The February issue of Game Informer is about to hit subscribers, and you can now see a first look at the new cover image. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is the next huge role-playing game from Bethesda, the makers of Oblivion and Fallout 3. Bethesda was kind enough to walk us though the new game a few weeks ago, and we can’t wait to share what we experienced with all of you.

The cover features a first for Game Informer. While this digital version of the image shows off the stark, black styling, the real treat comes in the print version. There you’ll see a special ultraviolet coating that accentuates the symbol in the center, giving a striking, 3-dimensional texture to the image.

We hope you enjoy the mysterious cover. And don’t worry. The inside of the magazine has over 20 screenshots that show off Skyrim in all its glory, along with a 14-page article on the new gameplay, engine, story and setting for this latest Elder Scrolls epic.

Also in this issue, we reveal our top 50 games of 2010, including your reader picks for game of the year. What did we choose? What did you choose? And were they the same?

In addition, the February issue includes our first look at Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, our blowout on the new Mortal Kombat game (including two new characters), and our frightening look at the newest Silent Hill. Also watch for our final review of Dead Space 2.
